Hengky Chandrahalim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology. Additionally, he serves as the Faculty Director of the AFIT Nanofabrication & Characterization Facility. His academic journey commenced with earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University, followed by Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctorate degrees from Cornell University, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

After graduating from Cornell University in 2009, he broadened his research exposure as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Micro and Nanosystems Laboratory at ETH Zurich. Prior to his appointment at AFIT, he held a dual position as a Research Fellow and Lecturer in the departments of Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan.

Prof. Chandrahalim is a fellow of IOP and IET, a senior member of IEEE and OPTICA, and a member of AAAS, ASA, APS, ASME, SAME, and SPIE. He engages in peer-review activities for publications specializing in optics & photonics, RF & microwave systems, acoustics, ultrasonics, frequency control, micro/nanosystems, and sensors & actuators. In addition, he contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editor for the Royal Society Open Science journal. His service extends to the organization of various major technical conferences.
